I recently was given a Amundson X-control rod from the church that I pastor for my birthday... the person presenting me with the rod said jokingly... "It is a catching rod not a fishing rod!" Little did he know how right he was! What an amazing rod... by far the easiest casting rod I

| It's a very nice rod, period. Lots of power but still a 5-weight, and my first impression is that it should do what I want it to. I would put it up against any of the sages/loops/etc. that I've owned. I was casting a WF6F Rio line and I think I can find a better line for it than that, but the rod feels really good. |

I've been using the Amundson TXS fly reel for three seasons. This
reel has a drag system that's second to none. Plus, the price of extra
spools won't break the bank. I'll put it up against a Phlueger President
any day of the week. |
