Intermediate Sinking Line – Type I

This First Catch Intermediate Sinking Line is just the line you need when fishing just below the surface for spooky fish. This Type 1 (1.5-2 IPS) intermediate line will sink just below the surface. These lines are crystal clear for the ultimate in stealthy presentations just below the surface.

Intermediate/Fast Sinking Line – Type II

This FCFS sinking line, especially for fishing stillwaters targeting shallow to medium depths. A traditional weight forward design, with thinner, high density coating, these lines will punch into the wind with ease. Whatever species you seek, if they are deep, this line will take you there.

Fast Sinking Line – Type III

These lines sink at rates between 3 and 7 inches/second depending on the line weight. For deeper stillwaters or targeting the deeper flows.

This series of very fast sinking lines are smooth and effortless to cast or shoot. The enhanced sensitivity and better strike detection are also key advantages of this design.

First Catch Sink Tip

The sink-tip fly line is another popular fly line. A sink-tip fly line is a fly line that sinks for the first 10-30 feet. The remainder of the fly line will continue to float.

The sink-tip fly line is most frequently used for nymph and streamer fishing, as the sink-tip assists getting the flies down in the water while the large amount of floating line still allows for fairly easy pick ups of the fly line off the water.

One thing to be noted, though, is that most sink-tip fly lines do tend to sink quickly. Thus, if you want your fly into the water only a little bit, you may be better off using another type of sinking line. Our First Catch Sinking Tip Fly Lines are often the best choice. They get your fly down deep into the feeding zone, while giving you the ability to mend the line for a natural drift.

The fast sinking tip compliments weighted flies or split shot for precision depth control. The high floating rear section allows you to mend, while watching for strike indications where the line breaks the surface.
